School Lunches

Our school meals are provided by Chartwells. Parents attending a tasting session agreed that the quality of food was excellent and tasted as good as home made! There are a number of choices for children on the menu.

All meals must be ordered & paid for by midnight on the preceding Thursday. Orders can be placed weekly or half termly. If your child is ill or on holiday in term time you will need to call CHARTWELLS on 01525 853415 before 9.00am on the first day of absence. If your child is in Rowan Class and has paid for meals, you will receive a credit from the 2nd day of absence.

Our new online school meal ordering service is ParentPay please click here to visit their site.

If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals please contact Central Bedfordshire Council Money and Benefits helpline on 03003008306.

Packed Lunches

Children may prefer to bring a packed lunch. Try to ensure that you pack them a healthy balanced lunch with a mixture of savoury and sweet items, but no sweets or chocolate bars please. If children do not eat items these will be sent home in their lunchboxes so that parents are aware of what their child has eaten and can monitor their food likes and dislikes.

Look at this Change4life website to find tips on preparing a healthy packed lunch for your child https://www.nhs.uk/change4life-beta/healthier-lunchboxes

Drinks

We encourage children to drink regularly during the day so please send your child with a drink in a named water bottle which can be refilled if necessary.

Milk

Milk is available free until your child reaches his or her 5th birthday.

The company Cool Milk will be providing milk at a cost of approximately 25p per day for children aged 5 and above, which is payable termly in advance. Registration packs from Cool Milk will be made available to you from the school. Milk must be ordered and paid for online on the Cool Milk website www.coolmilk.com.

Please remember to update your registration with Cool Milk over the School Holidays – Thank you.

Fruit and Vegetables

As part of the Government Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Scheme the children in Willow and Maple Class are provided with free fruit and vegetables to eat after the morning playtime. If your child is in Rowan Class they may bring fresh fruit or vegetables from home to eat at this time.
