We all learn in different ways but these characteristics of learning are very important for our development:

Playing and exploring

Finding out and exploring
Playing with what we know
Being willing to ‘have a go’
Being involved and concentrating
Keeping trying
Enjoying and achieving what we set out to do

Active Learning

Having our own ideas
Making links
Choosing ways to do things

Creating and thinking critically

Characteristics of Effective learning
We have sessions each day where we all learn together and other sessions in small groups. Sometimes we work individually with an adult.  In the Foundation Stage we learn a lot through playing inside the classroom and outside. Play helps us to develop our social skills and to explore new learning.  When we are playing it shows the adults in the class what we are able to do independently and what our next learning steps are.
Our main themes this term are ‘Houses and Homes’ and ‘Celebrations’ but we also learn about other things linked to our own interests.
